BUS DRIVER / GROUNDS / MAINTENANCE PERSON Operate a school bus over designated routes to transport students, perform general grounds, gardening, and maintenance work at District school sites. May also be assigned as needed, and particularly during inclement weather, to perform cleaning and maintenance duties of District buildings and equipment. Must have knowledge of: • Local geography. • The safe use, maintenance and operation of grounds keeping tools, equipment and sprinkling systems. • Methods, equipment and supplies used in cleaning and maintaining school buildings and equipment. • And the ability to: • Operate a school bus, exercising good judgment and extreme caution. • Maintain order among students on a school bus. • Effectively and safely use materials and hand and power tools associated with grounds keeping, gardening and building maintenance work. • Perform minor maintenance and repair work on a variety of equipment and tools used in the normal course of work. Desirable Experience: • Prior experience in grounds and building maintenance work. Truck or bus driving experience preferable.
